Latin American Alliance for Global Health commits support for FCGH
The Alianza Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Salud Global (ALASAG, Latin American Alliance for Global Health) held its fifth global conference in Medellín, Colombia 14-16 November 2018.
The final day of the conference included a panel titled “Health Equity as a Global Health Challenge”. Martín Hevia, president of the FCGH, submitted a video for the panel discussing how an FCGH can contribute to meeting these global challenges and the work of the FCGH Alliance.
Following the conference, the ALASAG issued its Medellín Declaration which in particular noted:

9. In this sense, it is imperative to forge the necessary alliances to defend our ideals. Thus, knowing of the existence of the Framework Convention on Global Health Alliance that works to achieve a global treaty legally binding for all States parties, as a moral, legal and political imperative of global health, the ALASAG alliance will contribute to the extent of its possibilities so that this effort achieves the desired purpose.
